3 Days Marrakech to Merzouga Description

Private 3-day desert tour to Merzouga via the Atlas Mountains, Kasbahs, Oasis And Gorges including an overnight camel trekking, you can aslo check our shared desert tour from Marrakech.

Day1

Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Roses & Dades Valley

We will pick you up from Marrakech in the morning then start the 3-day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga desert crossing the High Atlas Mountains, Tizi-n-Tichka passing through few Kasbahs and the traditional Atlas Berber villages, continuing driving on the Mountains, after few hours on the Atlas Mountains we will get to Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. We will have some walk visiting and have lunch near the Kasbah, then we continue driving to the Hollywood of Africa (Ouarzazate) where you will visit the atlas studios and Taourirt Kasbah where a lot of films where shot (Ex: Lawrence of Arabia, Game of thrones…etc.). After those visits, we will continue to Skoura, Roses Valley and then to Dades where we will spend the night.

Day2

Dades – Todra Gorges – El Jorf – Erfoud – Merzouga (Night in Erg Chebbi Desert)

After having breakfast and taking shower at the hotel, we will start the 2nd day of our journey to the Sahara desert. Oasis, Valleys and old Berber villages are waiting for us to visit along the way. Our first stop today will be on a panoramic view of the Dades Valley before continuing to Todra Gorges, where you’ll have time to walk through one of the most spectacular canyons in the world. We will continue driving to Tenhir, Tinjdad, Jorf having lunch on a Berber Villages before continuing to Erfoud where we the beginning of the Saharan Berber Villages and desert Oasis. We will continue our journey Merzouga, after few minutes driving from Erfoud you’ll start seeing the highest sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. We will get to a hotel in Merzouga where you will leave some of your luggage and take only the necessary for the night in small bags. Our desert adventure starts by riding camels crossing the sand dunes. You will stop in dunes for sunset, a great opportunity to take magical photos of the sunset over the dunes. when we get to the desert camp, you’ll have time to walk to one of the highest sand dunes for the Sand boarding. We will have dinner, Berber Drums music around a fire camp and you’ll have free time to walk to te nearest dunes to watch the stars.

Day3

Merzouga Desert- Alnif – N’kob – Agdz – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

Our guides at the camp will wake you up early in the morning to watch the sunrise in the dunes before riding the camels back to Merzouga. After the breakfast and showering in the desert Hotel, we will start the last day of our 3-day tour backing to Marrakech, today you’ll have only a few stops because it takes almost 10 hours driving back to Marrakech passing trough different desert areas and also few Berber villages (Ex: Alnif, Nkob, Agdz…etc). We will arrive in Ouarzazate around the noon, have lunch there and we will continue driving to Marrakech on the same road through the High Atlas Mountains.
